About Gretchen Harro
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. I am also a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist and Supervisor. These credentials mean that I am focused on helping people in their relationships.
With couples, we work together to identify the pattern underneath the “here-we-go-again” arguments. We discover what leads to feeling disconnected and identify where each person can make positive changes. I facilitate the process of helping clients have conversations that lead to deeper connection and acceptance of each other. Clear solutions to the issues they face arise as a result of this connection and acceptance.
In premarital counseling, I help couples identify strengths and address challenges in their relationship so they’re more prepared for life together. I am a Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, and often used this tool to jump-start our work together.
Parents develop a positive discipline that builds respect and cooperation between all family members.
Women of all ages discover the process of tuning into themselves and to their inner wisdom.
I also train clients in mindfulness practices for those who want to keep their attention in the present and worry less about the past and future.
My Christian faith informs my work and I integrate clients’ personal spiritual beliefs into therapy. I don’t push my beliefs on others, and clients have expressed their appreciation of my non-judgmental approach.
I enjoy bringing my practical, experiential approach to relationships to groups and regularly give workshops. Topics include:
- Is This Normal?
